SPACE Production has started filming the series The Last Axel

The shooting of the sports drama The Last Axel, which SPACE Production is filming for MEGOGO, has started in St. Petersburg.

One of the main roles is Elena Podkaminskaya, playing the role of a tough figure skating coach working for results.

The leading role in the series went to the young actress Angelina Zagrebina. They were looking for her for almost a year, because, in addition to the ability to act out serious dramatic scenes, she must confidently stand on skates.

Angelina Zagrebina and young actors playing the role of figure skaters now train on the ice every day. The trainers of the legendary Mishin school are working with them.

“Figure skating is one of the most popular sports among the people, so there should be no inaccuracies, – says Daria Leнgoniе-Fialko, General Producer and Founder of SPACE Production. – Evgenia Medvedeva helped us a lot, even in such nuances as the relationship of girls-athletes in the locker rooms, preparation for going on the ice. All these subtleties help to make the story true”.

Director Anario Mammadov clarifies that The Last Axel is a multi-genre project in which several storylines are intertwined: “I believe that it will potentially be a hit in terms of audience interest, as it will cover different audiences. It is both a classic sports drama with spectacular competitions and a captivating detective story. The conflict between “fathers and children” will add a dramatic component, and above all, this is the internal conflict of the main character”.

The father of the main character will be played by Mikhail Trukhin. This is a complex and tragic line in the project, revealing the circumstances in which the iron character of the main character was formed. And the role of the son of Elena Podkaminskaya character will be played by Fedor Fedotov. Both families will go through a difficult crisis in relations between two generations – overprotection and domestic violence – two pressing problems for many families. Also starring Karina Razumovskaya (second coach), Arseny Popov (coach), Alexander Semchev as an investigator, and Olympic champion Alexei Yagudin will play the role of a choreographer in the series.
